Lizzie Schlegel Celebrates 5 Years with Fingerpaint!

June 26,2019

Congrats to Lizzie Schlegel for celebrating five years with Fingerpaint! Lizzie, a member of the finance team in our Saratoga Springs office, joined Fingerpaint directly after graduating from Siena College with a degree in accounting. In the five years since, she’s grown to manage a portion of the finance team, optimize agency billing processes, and more. While on sabbatical, Lizzie spent time relaxing, both in Turks and Caicos and at home.

Name: Lizzie Schlegel

Office: Saratoga

Role: Finance

What do you remember about your first day at Fingerpaint?

I was pleasantly surprised that the office dress code is so casual. I came from a place that had a very formal dress code, and it was the first thing I noticed when I came in!

What do you like most about the entire agency?

If I have to pick one thing, it’s the people. Our staff is truly awesome. We are extremely lucky to work with such funny, intelligent, and passionate employees!

What advice would you give yourself/someone entering the industry?

Advertising is a challenging field, no matter what role you fill in the company. Be ready to work hard, play hard, and actively manage your work-life balance. We love what we do, but we don’t want it to be all that we do!

What’s your take on Fingerpaint’s commitment to philanthropy?

I love everything about it. Fingerpaint does a great job identifying staff interests and community needs before giving back. We are encouraged to participate in community events and join local boards. Bo is an awesome leader, and she helps us combine our strengths and passions to give back in the most effective way.

What are you hoping to see happen at Fingerpaint? (trampoline in the parking lot, 4-day work weeks, etc. – any ideas are welcome)

I love food (who doesn’t?), so it would be awesome to have meals available on-site for purchase someday!

What are you going to do on your sabbatical? Or, what did you do on your sabbatical?

I spent a week volunteering at our local food kitchen, and then I traveled to Turks and Caicos and Orlando.

How often do you raid the beer keg/liquor cabinet?

Usually once a month … directly correlated with month-end closing.

Who’s your favorite office dog? Why?

I love them ALL, but Hunter will always have a special place in my heart. She’s always so excited to be here and brings such positive energy into the building.

For your caffeine fix: Saratoga Coffee Traders or Uncommon Grounds?

Saratoga Coffee Traders, without question. I go almost every morning (and sometimes in the afternoon, too!).
