October 23,2018

Join us in congratulating John Lenss for hitting the five-year mark at Fingerpaint! John, who is part of our interactive team in Saratoga Springs, is our go-to resource for interactive projects, and as a sought-after local musician, our go-to resource for all things rock. Whether he’s holding a guitar pick or quarterbacking an interactive team meeting, John dotes on the details to ensure an optimal experience.

John, thank you for your hard work and dedication to this agency. Rock on.

Name: John Lenss

Office: Saratoga Springs

Role: Interactive

What do you remember about your first day at Fingerpaint?

I remember feeling excited and very lucky. I had found a new home among familiar faces and had the opportunity to work with the talented Fingerpainters! Everyone was an expert at something, and I was excited to learn all that I could and to find my place within the agency.

What do you like most about the entire agency?

Easy question—my fellow Fingerpainters! I find inspiration or learn something new from my co-workers every day. Whether it’s a timely or bold idea, a great client outcome, or a simple chuckle in the bistro, none of it would be possible without my work family.

What advice would you give yourself/someone entering the industry?

Don’t be afraid to fail fast. Learn from your mistake, get back on track, and get back in the game!

What has been your favorite philanthropic initiative at Fingerpaint so far?

I loved how the agency rallied for Operation Lunch Lady, where we raised money and packed 65,000 meals to combat food insecurity over the summer.

What are you hoping to see happen at Fingerpaint? (trampoline in the parking lot, four-day work weeks, etc. – any ideas are welcome)

Sheesh, we have so many perks already. What could possibly be left? A trampoline in the parking lot sounds interesting—let’s do it!

What did you do on your sabbatical?

I spent time with my girlfriend, Meghan, my pup Brodie, family and friends, climbed over Mount Marcy, explored the Adirondacks, found some waterfalls and rope swings, caught some sunrises and sunsets, raced my sailboat, kayaked up and down the Hudson, and of course — cranked up the guitar amp up to 11!

How often do you raid the beer keg/liquor cabinet?

Hmm … less often these days. By the way, what’s the company statute of limitations on past transgressions?

Who’s your favorite office dog? Why?

Tie between Mocha and Max. Mocha is a sweetie, and Max is my buddy.

For your caffeine fix: Saratoga Coffee Traders or Uncommon Grounds?

Saratoga Coffee Traders—they have the good stuff.
