Congratulations to Gwen Ivins for reaching her fifth year as a Fingerpainter! Gwen, who is part of our production services team, is so passionate about coffee that she named her pitbull Mocha. She brings passion to the agency on a daily basis, where she energizes brand strategy by combining buzz-worthy design and picture-perfect production. Gwen, we sincerely appreciate you for all of your hard work and dedication to the agency!

Name: Gwen Ivins
Office: Saratoga Springs
Team: Production Services
What do you remember about your first day at Fingerpaint?
I remember excitement from all 40 employees because I was doubling the size of the Studio that day, especially from the only other Studio member, my friend, and then boss, Donna Lama.
Are you in the same role? What has changed about your role?
It’s essentially the same, just with more responsibility.
Tell us one of your favorite early memories from your office.
I have a couple of memories to share: Late nights in the old office, when we were still a very small company, everyone coming together and working hard to win a pitch, nailing it and then celebrating that win. Also, the beautiful view out “my” window (I was at a card table against the outside of a conference room wall, placed near a window).
What advice do you have for someone who is about to finger-paint for the first time since their childhood?
Just don’t think about it and you’ll end up with something great.
Favorite thing about your office:
Mocha Mondays. Being able to bring my dog, Mocha to work every Monday for the last 5 years has been great for her, me and my co-workers. Mocha joyfully cries every Monday morning on our commute in because she’s so excited—it’s her day to see all her friends and eat all the treats they give her. My co-workers (who have become like family) and their dogs (plus Stunner, the pig) aren’t half bad either. 😉
What do you love most about the entire agency?
I love how much we give back to the communities around each office. Bo, our director of Community Relations, rallies everyone together to give back in so many different ways. It’s a truly inspiring and amazing thing to be a part of.
How many unread emails do you have in your inbox?
Work inbox, 0. Personal inbox, 21,131.
Are you planning to read them or should you just batch delete?
What can I say? I’m detail oriented at work, but not so much at home.
What advice would you give yourself on day 1 of working at Fingerpaint?
Hold on, it’s gonna be a wild ride.
What advice do you want to give yourself now working at the agency for 5 years?
Every interaction is a learning experience.
What are you hoping to see happen at Fingerpaint?
I would love a gym (or even a heavy bag) and showers in the office. Also a rooftop working area would be great! A girl can dream.
Have you already taken your sabbatical? If yes, what did you do with your time off?
I took my sabbatical the last 2 weeks of December and the first 2 weeks of January to coincide with my boyfriend’s winter break from school. We traveled to California for 8 days and enjoyed time with each other, reconnected with friends and took long walks with Mocha.
