Position Summary

The Account Supervisor supports the Group Account Director in cultivating and maintaining solid relationships with clients by serving both strategic and executional leadership roles. Specifically for this opportunity, the chosen candidate will have displayed an acumen for understanding a complex disease and translating that understanding to project execution. This role provides a rare opportunity to guide highly valued content across multiple channels. It also provides a rare opportunity to directly experience the impact of your work, through contact with the HCPs and patients who are battling this rare disease. Types of tactics include, but are not limited to:

  • Websites
  • Speaker bureau content development
  • Advisory boards
  • Nonpersonal promotion: banner ads, advertorials, print ads, emails
  • Sales rep-delivered print and digital sales aids
  • Patient education
  • Congress activities

The position is ideal for candidates who have 5 to 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing or at an agency, leading promotional and/or medical education initiatives, with some management experience preferred. Deep experience across both medical education and promotional communications is not mandatory, but a desire and willingness to work hard to become proficient in both is. Experience with complex or rare disease is preferred.


Position Responsibilities

  • Ability to identify key opportunities/issues and provide strategic and tactical recommendations to help client achieve marketing goals
  • Works with team to develop innovative solutions to client challenges

  • Serves as content and business expert on assigned brands, serving as a go-to resource for internal colleagues
  • Ensures creative and scientific output is on strategy, on message, and clearly exceeds client’s expectations
  • In cooperation with supervisor, builds annual SOW
    • Generate key issues/objectives/strategies
    • Manage development of tactical plan
    • Work with Project Management to build budget and timeframes
  • Provides accurate and timely product forecasts, manages reconciliations and billing, and lead financial contact for client
  • Leads development of internal client reviews and account planning process
  • Responsible for the supervision, training, and development of junior staff members
  • Adapts to variations in workload and working conditions while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor    


Talent & Knack

  • Strategic understanding of both established and emerging digital and mobile technology
  • Successful track record of delivering cross-channel integrated marketing programs that are the aligned with a strategic marketing plan
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills are required
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical/healthcare and agency industry
  • Thorough understanding of marketing, communications planning, and branding
  • Thorough knowledge of all marketing channels and an understanding of how they work in conjunction with each other to drive behavior
  • Extensive experience working with creative and technical development of digital marketing solutions, technology, and emerging media in an agency environment
  • Proven leadership ability and track record of earning respect of peers and colleagues
  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum), preferably in health sciences, marketing, or communications field
  • 5 to 7 years of pharmaceutical and/or agency experience
