Position Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum), preferably in the health sciences, marketing, or communications field; advanced degree a plus (MBA or master’s in science)

Experience

  • 8+ years of pharmaceutical client-side marketing experience with a proven track record of growing business or pharmaceutical agency experience with a proven track record of growing accounts
  • Experience in a strategic planning role a plus

The ideal Director of Brand Strategy & Growth candidate is results-oriented pharmaceutical marketing executive with proven marketing and sales experience at a pharmaceutical or pharmaceutical communications company and a unique ability to quickly build relationships and develop networks. You are an innovative marketer and an accomplished strategist with commercial and launch experience who is adept at positioning, branding, and digital marketing. You have demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas, marketing, medical education, disease state education, promotion activities, managed markets, sales, as well as FDA regulations surrounding these endeavors. You have an uncanny ability to identify a client challenge and lead the development of the strategy and custom solution to exceed client expectations. 

Additionally, the Director of Brand Strategy & Growth role requires an appreciation of the client/agency relationship and insight into how agencies provide value that supports brand growth. Experience collaborating with and/or actual agency experience is required. 

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

Planning

  • Develop annual and mid-year growth plans and budget for existing clients and prospects 
  • Assess and prioritize growth opportunities for existing clients
  • Triage and prioritize growth opportunities for key prospects 
  • Develop and implement plans to grow existing business and convert prospects 
  • Identify engagement and relationship building opportunities for key clients and prospects
  • Contribute to the annual marketing plan   

Delivery

  • Responsible for contributing to organic and new business revenue contribution to agency 
  • Provide quarterly client/brand opportunity assessments and recommended growth strategies
  • Lead all RFI, RFP, and pitch efforts
  • Contribute content to capabilities, proposal, and pitch deliverables 
  • Lead and/or participate in new business pitches and presentations  
  • Manage the presentation “experience” and own the “run of show” for all prospect presentations
  • Responsible for managing the growth business development budget 
  • Leverages the CRM system to track client and prospect growth 
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key members of agency team  
  • Participate in select industry events

Client Engagement

  • Ensure an excellent client experience across all client interactions from needs assessment through delivery and follow up 
  • Cultivates relationships with prospects and positions agency for future opportunities 
  • Builds broad relationships within existing client organizations to identify and realize organic growth opportunities
  • Contribute to current client strategy as appropriate 

Division Leadership

  • Contribute to the future direction of agency
  • Identify potential new service offerings that meet client needs
