Associate Attorney

Fingerpaint is seeking an ambitious associate attorney with strong writing, negotiation, and communication skills and knowledge of corporate governance, transaction documents, data privacy, and operational processes. Duties include drafting and negotiating various agreements, assisting with human resources issues, providing guidance on pertinent laws and regulations, and assisting the chief legal officer with other various legal matters.
 

What it takes:

  • Draft, review, revise, and negotiate a high volume of routine contracts, as well as nonstandard agreements, including those relating to corporate, compliance, and international matters
  • Provide legal support to internal clients and general counsel
  • Conduct research on various state and federal laws and regulations
  • Research and analyze statutes, regulations, and other sources and provide written analysis
  • Assist the group leader with the preparation and implementation of the group’s strategic plan and continuous development
  • Prepare legal reports
  • Negotiate on behalf of the company
  • Guide management on regulatory and compliance issues to ensure compliance with legal regulations
  • Assist the general counsel with the management of the legal department
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree
  • Active license
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
  • Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing with clients and other attorneys and paralegals, both inside and outside the company
  • Must be able to effectively multitask, autonomously manage time-sensitive documents, and utilize exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to work with various levels of the organization
  • Sound independent judgment under minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently, as well as coordinate with a team
  • Able to travel for up to 1 week each quarter
