The MedThink SciCom team is seeking a motivated individual who creates substantial, organic relationships within multiple levels of the client’s organization.  You are a knowledgeable leader who has a passion for ensuring successful completion of projects and strengthening client connections. Creating fresh business opportunities and educating clients on business trends is a part of your nature.

 

Position Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum), preferably in the health sciences, business or communications field; advanced degree or allied health degree a plus (PharmD, BSN, PhD, MS, RPh)

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of pharmaceutical and/or agency experience, including > 2 years of medcom tactics experience
  • Prior agency supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience estimating costs and developing budgets

 

Position Responsibilities

Demonstrates behavior expected of a professional member of the organization, including but not limited to:
 

  • Client management

        Cultivates and builds solid relationships with clients

        Develops strategic communication (publication, advocacy development, and medical education) plans

        Routinely suggests new and relevant initiatives to clients

        Plans and prioritizes account teamwork plan and delegates responsibilities

        Ensures that principles of efficiency, economy, and quality are utilized in all client work

        Determines manpower needs of account group for client

        Works with Account Director on budgeting process (meets monthly with finance to review billing opportunities)

        Reviews initial and revised job-level budgets and reviews appropriate job-level tracking reports with project manager

        Collaborates with AD/VP to prepare annual client fee budget and to ensure budgets are updated as necessary

        Assists with day-to-day account problem solving

         Maintains publication details in publication management portals or other systems in a compliant manner as required by clients; oversees the work of team members in these portals and systems

        Initiates and attends most meetings in which important strategies and plans are discussed

  • Scientific and design output

        Develops briefing documents and reviews all content created at each round of review

        Supports AD in ensuring that creative and scientific output is on strategy, on message, and exceeds the author/client’s expectations

  • Organic growth/Agency management

        Ensures internal relationships between account group and other agency departments are productive and problem free

        Identifies and follows up on organic growth and new business leads; helps develop proposals proactively

  • Personnel management

        Works closely with project management to ensure timelines, estimates, and other client paperwork is completed in a timely manner

        Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations as necessary

        Identifies and provides developmental opportunities for account executive

        Conducts account executive annual and midterm performance reviews, as well as monthly updates
