Fingerpaint is looking for an individual who has excellent communication skills and a proven willingness to deliver on multiple payrolls and projects within the Finance Department.
What it takes:
· Manages and processes biweekly payroll/certified payroll for up to 700+ current exempt and nonexempt employees across multiple company codes and office locations
· Can handle payroll operations to ensure all payrolls are processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with legislative requirements and company policies.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
· Strong customer service skills dealing with internal and external customers;
· Adheres to all state and federal regulations for payroll processing
· Processes W-4s for tax purposes
· Assists with year-end payroll and payroll tax activities, including preparation of W-2 forms, year-end reconciliations, and reporting
· Keeps up to date on changes in company tax status
· Assists finance department with reporting, reconciliations, and payroll audits
· Serves as point of contact for internal requests related to payroll
· Keeps detailed and organized payroll records
· Exhibits understanding of company benefits, such as 401(k)s, insurance, paid leave, and other voluntary deductions
· Performs other related duties or ad hoc projects as assigned
Know-how:
· Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience
· Possesses basic accounting principles
· Applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes related to payroll
· Pays close attention to detail
· Demonstrates understanding of tax documents and preparation processes
Bonus points:
· Previous experience with ADP
· Has experience with payroll acquisitions
· Has previously processed payroll across multiple states and is aware of different state rules and regulations
