Marketing and Business Development Associate

We are seeking a marketing communications and business development associate to assist in lead generation, business expansion, and corporate promotion. This individual will use a combination of Internet research, professional networking connections and referrals to identify and engage with potential clients via CRM outbound e-mail initiatives and other relevant promotional efforts. This individual will work with our chief marketing officer and marketing team to evaluate incoming new business opportunities and support all of our offices in the kick-off phase of capabilities presentations and new business pitches. To excel in this role, this individual should be an active listener, have an outgoing personality, be interested in building strategic/creative expertise, have a hunger to chase and close new business, and enjoy growing teams and winning.

What it takes:

  • Research trends in health, wellness, and scientific discovery to identify new markets to explore
  • Research existing and potential clients’ pipelines to identify new business opportunities
  • Plan and oversee marketing initiatives intended to drive business development, including the management and execution of our CRM database and other relevant marketing efforts
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers as appropriate via e-mail, phone, and in person
  • Maintain and update client database, mail lists, and pipeline report
  • Create and maintain business development core materials, including capabilities, case studies, client references, etc
  • Evaluate incoming new business opportunities
  • Track submitted proposals, decisions, and outcomes
  • Assist lead project managers in respective offices with the preparation of presentations and pitches
  • Coordinate and arrange client events, meetings, appointments, and conferences
  • Assist in the creative development of business development materials


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
  • 2 to 4 years of professional experience in sales or marketing; ideally 2 to 4 years of pharma industry experience in project management and/or account service
  • Strategic thinker with business acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to prioritize and manage workload
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong networking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
