Junior Strategic Planner

Cedar Knolls, NJ

We’re looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and inventive person to join us as a junior strategic planner. You will be at the front lines of helping to build brands from the ground up and will play a key role in supporting discovery, understanding, and synthesis of a market and our clients’ brands—all in service of developing our strategic products (positioning, market shaping, creative briefing, yearly business planning, and more). You will be working with the larger strategy team, as well as our creative, project management, and account teams. Responsibilities:

  • Analyzer: Compile and organize customer, industry, competitor, and cultural information and work with senior planners to analyze it for trends and deeper insights that help build brand strategy
  • Researcher: Provide support on qualitative, quantitative, and ad hoc/observational research activities, including conducting interviews and analyzing results
  • Trend watcher: Conduct up-to-date tracking, sharing, and distillation of relevant customer, market, and cultural news and trends
  • Engaging creator: 
    • Assist in developing creative briefs built on insights and observations from the market, focusing on turning strategy into persuasive language that inspires creative ideas 
    • Deliver compelling, visually engaging, insightful, and well-written presentations, workshops, and other materials
  • Flexible team player: Provide departmental support, such as helping with creating research stimulus materials, coordinating meetings with other agency departments/clients, drafting awards submissions, and taking on ad hoc assignments

Know-how:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • 6-month to 1-year internship and/or 1 to 2 years of office experience preferred
  • 6 months to 1 year of previous advertising or strategic planning experience preferred
  • Ability to share a project or time that you demonstrated the ability to think outside of the box or deeper than the surface level to deliver something unexpected, insightful, but still on target (eg, an assignment in college, a job experience, music, art…whatever can you think can show us you’re a dynamic thinker)
  • Bonus: relevant pharmaceutical, medical/scientific, or marketing experience
